The Amsterdam Dungeon: delve into the darker side of Amsterdam’s history
Are you brave enough? At The Amsterdam Dungeon, you’ll step into a world of witch hunts, torture and executions, all based on real historical stories about Amsterdam. This isn’t a museum with static displays, but an immersive experience comprising 9 interactive shows featuring 10 live actors, eerie sets and spectacular special effects that bring 750 years of spine-chilling history to life.
From the dreaded courtroom to the city’s darkest cellars: each show drags you further into history. It’s scary, it’s funny, it’s theatrical and surprisingly educational too. The combination of horror and humour makes it accessible and great fun for groups of friends looking to do something completely different. Educational programmes are also available especially for schools.
The Amsterdam Dungeon is open daily from 11:00 and is located in the centre of Amsterdam. Online tickets are cheaper than those bought at the ticket office. Fancy making a bigger day of it? Then there are combination tickets available with Madame Tussauds and THIS IS HOLLAND. Not suitable for very young children or people who are easily frightened.
