About this activity
STRAAT Museum; street art and graffiti at its best
On the bustling NDSM site in Amsterdam-Noord, you’ll find STRAAT: a museum entirely dedicated to street art and graffiti, presented in truly impressive fashion. In a former shipyard warehouse covering no less than 8,500 m², you can see works by more than 150 international street artists, ranging from enormous murals to detailed graffiti and installations that completely dominate the space.
STRAAT is not a traditional museum where you walk silently past white walls. The scale and energy of the works are overwhelming; this is art that stares you right in the face. In addition to the permanent collection, there are regularly changing exhibitions, workshops, guided tours and opportunities to see artists at work. On the first Friday of the month, the museum is open until 9.00 pm.
Special programmes are available for groups and schools. STRAAT can be reached by a free bus service from Amsterdam Central Station and is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 17.00. A must-visit for anyone who loves art that really has something to say.
