Space Expo Noordwijk: the Netherlands’ premier space museum Right next to ESA ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s centre in Noordwijk, you’ll find Space Expo: the Netherlands’ only space museum and an absolute must-visit for anyone who wants to forget for a moment just how big the Earth actually is. You can touch a real meteorite, walk through a model of the International Space Station and look inside the original Soyuz capsule in which André Kuipers flew into space. There are currently two temporary exhibitions: Artemis II, about the first manned mission to the Moon in over fifty years, including scale models of the SLS rocket and Orion capsule, and a tribute to Wubbo Ockels, the first Dutchman in space, featuring never-before-seen artefacts and images. There is also a scale model of the James Webb Space Telescope on display. Children aged 5 to 12 can take part in the free treasure hunt ‘Expedition Space Expo’, where they complete tasks, answer quiz questions and earn an astronaut’s certificate. An educational and inspiring day out for the whole family, and perfect for school trips and group visits.
