About this activity
At the heart of the triangle formed by Amsterdam, Zaanstad and Purmerend lies Klimpark Twiske: an outdoor climbing park tucked away in an old woodland area in Het Twiske, where you can swing, jump and climb from pole to pole amongst the trees. Nature is very much in charge here, and that makes it all the more beautiful.
There are seven climbing routes named after birds from the Zaan region, ranging in height from 4 to 7.5 metres and even up to 12 metres for the daredevils. From the accessible ‘Braamsluiper’ for beginners to the challenging ‘Torenvalk’ for those really pushing their limits, there’s a course for every level. As well as climbing, there’s also a freefall ride, a children’s course for the little ones, archery, boules, frisbee golf and mountain biking. In short: spending a whole day outdoors is no problem at all.
Twiske Climbing Park is open at weekends and on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, and every day during the school holidays. Booking in advance is recommended. A brilliant day out for families, groups of friends, schools and companies looking for an active adventure with nature as the backdrop.
