Build Your Own Terrarium

Terrarium workshop at Wildernis Amsterdam: a mini-ecosystem in a pot At the charming plant shop Wildernis on Bilderdijkstraat in Amsterdam, you’ll create your own sealed terrarium from recycled glass during this evening workshop. All materials are sustainable: organic soil, organic moss and sustainably grown plants. And best of all: at the end of the evening, you’ll go home with your very own ecosystem in a pot. During the workshop, you’ll learn how photosynthesis and the water cycle work, how to build up good soil, and how to look after your terrarium afterwards. A closed terrarium is virtually self-sustaining: water vapour condenses on the glass and drips back into the soil. If well looked after, the plants can thrive in it for years. The workshop starts at 7.00 pm and is conducted entirely in English. Groups can also request a separate date or venue. An original and relaxing evening for nature lovers, friends or as a creative team-building event.
